INSTRUCTOR
Perry P. Trauger was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He joined the United States Air Force and served twenty two years as a Combat Arms Instructor training Air Force personnel on all aspects of ground weapons including handgun, rifle, light/heavy machinegun, 40mm grenade launchers and mortars. He also performed inspections, maintenance and repairs for all ground weapons. Mr. Trauger received many accolades throughout his military career to include being awarded 17th Air Force and United States Space Command Outstanding Combat Arms Manager. Upon retirement, Mr. Trauger was recruited by a government contractor to conduct weapons training and maintenance for Kennedy Space Center and Cape Canaveral Air Force Station contract security personnel. Certified as a NASA Federal Law Enforcement Instructor, he was responsible for providing training for over 500 security officers on all aspects of weapons training including semi-annual qualifications, use of force, and judgmental training. He also developed qualification courses for all weapons utilized by the security force and SWAT including ground, airborne and waterborne weapons platforms. Mr. Trauger also worked conducting training at the Criminal Justice Center, Eastern Florida State College, Melbourne Campus for law enforcement academy students. In 2003, he was recruited by a government security contractor located in northern Virginia and relocated to assume the position of Director of Training. In this role, Mr. Trauger established a training academy and developed security training curriculum to meet federal, state and local requirements throughout the 19 states in which the company held security contracts. After hiring competent instructors and ensuring that the company training was lauded as “top notch” by the Department of Homeland Security, Federal Protective Service, Mr. Trauger was promoted to Director of Operations. This position entailed overseeing in excess of fifty government facilities along with 1,500 security officers ensuring that all contractual requirements were met; posts were staffed, and overtime was minimized. Once promoted to Vice President of Training/Quality Control, he ensured that all contracts operated at the highest levels. With over 38 years of instructor experience, along with hands on experience in the contract security environment, Mr. Trauger’s expertise is unsurpassed in the security training arena and his extensive knowledge will be to the benefit of all students who attend any of the training provided at Dead Shot Security Training, LLC.
